On September 13, 2020, Pastor Michael announced that he has accepted the call to serve as Pastor of Georegtown (Illinois) Church of the Nazarene. His final Sunday as Pastor of West Valley will be October 18. Join us in praying for the Flowers family as they transition to this new ministry, and also pray with us for future here at West Valley.

Pastor Michael arrived at West Vally Church in August 2015 with his wife, Mindy, and infant daughter, Jane. They welcomed their second daughter, Rebecca, in January 2017. They experienced loss and heartache in May 2019 when their son, John, died due to complications during birth. However, loss has not defined who they are. They continue to live life and minister as God has called and enabled them. On Sunday, May 17, 2020, the Flowers' welcomed their 4th child (another daughter, Hannah) into their lives.

Michael has previous Alaska roots, having spent most of his childhood years in North Pole, Alaska. He was ordained as an minister in the Church of the Nazarene in July 2014 while serving as a pastor in Mattoon, IL. He is passionate about touching the lives of people in the Matsu Valley with the love, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. His hobbies include music, sports of all kinds, and board games. He is passionate about spending time with others while utilizing those hobbies and other activities to do so. He feels there is no better way to minister to someone than to spend life with them.

In addition to serving as our pastor, Michael also serves our community as a firefighter with the West Lakes Fire Department.

Life Verse:

Galatians 2:20 ~ "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."  (NIV)
